My name is Sharyl Burau and I am so happy to be the media specialist at Thurston Elementary School. This is my TENTH year in the Ann Arbor School District. I have served as media specialist at Carpenter School for the past 9 years, and have also worked at King and Burns Park Elementary Schools.
I started working in public school libraries when I lived in Chicago, once upon a time, so I have a few years of experience.
I am asking my teachers questions about reading, so I thought on my first post I would answer a few of these questions myself. So, here goes....
What are you reading right now?
A Crimson Warning by Tasha Alexander
Describe your favorite setting to read in:
My cozy bed and most often I am reading something to my son, Huck (8 years old). We are currently enjoying "The Hardy Boys" series.
What is your favorite genre?
I love historical fiction mysteries!
What was your favorite book as a child?
"The Big Book of Animals". I got this from my dad and still have it, tattered and worn as it is.
What is your favorite book now?
"Because of Winn-Dixie" by Kate DiCamillo (possibly my favorite author)
